Astana Airport purchased power wheelchairs.

Taking into account the annual growth of disabled passengers, Astana Airport uses best efforts for improvement quality of the services for mentioned persons, using JSC “Astana International Airport” services. Therefore, for the first time Astana Airport purchased three new power wheelchairs and four hand power wheelchairs in addition to the current seven wheelchairs for comfortable and safety movement. Advantages of the purchased power wheelchairs is disabled person is able to move without physical force, in other words chair has the opportunity to work due to electromotor, operating on charged battery and controlled by control panel (joystick). Airport Management makes everything to create comfortable conditions and free movement of the disabled persons at Astana Airport.

Astana Airport has organized “Tilge kurmet – elge kurmet” (Reverence for Language – Respect for People” event devoted to the festival of languages of the people of Kazakhstan

Within the framework of the 20th anniversary of State Symbol of Kazakhstan and ХХХ Summer Olympic games in London, in September 26, 2012 the JSC "International Airport Astana" has organized “Tilge kurmet – elge kurmet” (Reverence for Language – Respect for People” ) event devoted to the holiday of languages of the people of Kazakhstan. At the capital airport providing of such events has become a good tradition. The holiday was a bright and lively accompanying gala concert program. More than 40 employees of airport and “Astana” border control, pupil of №24 high school took part in the festival. Representatives of the Ukraine National Cultural Centre came to congratulate airport staff and put on an artistic program. At the final all participants of the festival were also awarded with certificates on behalf of the President of the Astana International Airport and gifts for showing activity and participation in this event.

Since August 17, 2012 “BEK Air” Airline first opened flights from Astana to Almaty with a frequency of performance twice a week on Monday and Saturday. Since  August 25, 2012 “Air Astana” airline for the first time commences a new flight from Airport Astana to Beijing, China. The flights will be performed with a frequency of 2 times a week on Wednesday and Saturday on the comfortable aircraft Boeing-757. Thanks to this new flight travelers will have more opportunities to travel to South East Asia. This flight will directly link the two capitals of the friendly countries of Kazakhstan and China. Since  August 27, 2012 “China Southern Airlines” air company after long brake resume its flights from Astana to Urumqi, China with a frequency of performance four flights a week on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Previously, the airline operates flights to the capital of Kazakhstan in 2006, and after a long hiatus resumed their flights. Currently, “Air Astana” airline operates flights from Astana airport to Urumqi. With the opening of flights of “China Southern Airlines”, the residents and visitors of the capital will have the opportunity to visit more often Urumqi.

XXX Olympic Game medalists and participants in Astana Airport

РEarly morning of August 14, Kazakhstan sportsmen - XXX Olympic Game champions and participants, among them gold medalist – boxer Serik Sapiyev, bronze medalist – boxer Marina Volnova, Ivan Dychko and Danyar Yeleusinov, came back from London to Astana Airport. More than hundred fans from throughout of Kazakhstan met Olympic medalists with congratulations and flowers. Their relatives, colleagues and civil servants met sportsmen also. Astana Airport together with Akimat organized meeting and press conference for sportsmen. At this press conference the Olympians said thank to fans for theirs support and dedicated victory for Kazakhstan people. Astana Airport congratulated sportsmen with their merited victory and wished success and good luck in future competitions.
